At Green Fern Language Center, we help professionals and teams communicate with clarity, confidence, and cultural awareness.

Whether you’re a non-native English speaker preparing for a high-stakes presentation or a team leader managing across time zones and languages, our training is built to help you thrive in today’s multilingual, multicultural workplace.

Our Vision

At Green Fern Language Center, we envision a world where clear, confident, and culturally aware communication empowers professionals to thrive—no matter their native language.

We believe communication should be a bridge, not a barrier. That’s why our programs are designed to support non-native English speakers and multicultural teams with the tools they need to express themselves fully, collaborate effectively, and lead boldly in today’s global workplace.

Founder Amy Lynch created Green Fern after experiencing the isolating—and ultimately transformative—challenge of living abroad and learning new languages firsthand. Those experiences, combined with her career in professional communication, shaped a vision for a more inclusive, connected workforce—one conversation at a time.

I was twenty years old when I moved to Madrid, Spain.

I didn’t speak Spanish. I had no internet, no smartphone, and no easy way to bridge the language gap—just a paper dictionary and the overwhelming challenge of navigating daily life in a language I didn’t understand. My professors lectured in Spanish. My textbooks were in Spanish. My classmates spoke only Spanish—my roommates, too. It was difficult, isolating, and often terrifying.

But something happened in the midst of that struggle. Little by little, like the dimmer switch on a light, I started understanding. Words that once seemed foreign became familiar. Conversations that felt impossible turned into connections. It wasn’t just about learning Spanish—it was about unlocking a whole new world.

That experience ignited a lifelong passion for language acquisition.

Since then, I’ve gone on to earn degrees in both Spanish and Sociology from Purdue University, and a Master's in Communication from Villanova University. I’ve taught Advanced Placement Spanish, chaired a World Language Department serving more than 900 students, and served on a curriculum committee that supported 15 schools. I currently teach undergraduate communication at the college level and specialize in professional writing through my company, Fernling Creative.

Along the way, I also studied Korean in Seoul, South Korea, and rediscovered that spark—that incredible moment when a language that once felt out of reach starts to become your own.

I founded Green Fern Language Center to make that moment possible for others—especially professionals navigating communication challenges in English.

At Green Fern, we don’t just teach. We help teams collaborate across language and culture, and we empower individuals to speak with clarity, confidence, and credibility in the workplace. Whether you’re an organization investing in workforce training or a professional seeking to strengthen your voice, we’re here to help you thrive in a global world.
